New York, NY · 2021 – Present- Architected and shipped an LLM moderation and enforcement product from zero: a pluggable, protocol-based Python system that decides ~20,000 cases and takes ~5,000 enforcement actions a day at 94% human-validated precision, cutting median report-to-action from days to under an hour.
- Designed its data model for cases, labels, and decisions, set up the human review and labeling queues, and built the dashboards policy and operations teams use to monitor it; moved it from an external model to an internal one after comparing the two on human-labeled data.
- Made it shared platform infrastructure: several teams and use cases onboard in weeks, not months, through configuration and prompts rather than new code.
- Led engineering for Community Notes on Threads from zero across web (React) and mobile. Built in-app rating and note-writing that cut time to consensus 59 to 14.8 hours, lifting 14-day retention 18.4% to 31.7%, the highest among peer apps; daily contributors grew 97 to 1,790.
- Own roadmap and prioritization across 4 platform teams plus policy, legal, and operations partners, and mentor 3 engineers.
- Launched About This Profile on Threads to 132M users, establishing the app's first reusable cross-platform components.
- Led engineering for Threads-only accounts, shipping standalone creation, login, recovery, and settings on iOS and Android under a hard EU deadline, plus the integrity controls that unblocked the public Threads launch.
- Led engineering for election transparency on Instagram across backend, mobile, and web for the Philippines, Brazil, and US midterms, covering accounts responsible for 8 billion civic content views.
